Lenk & Ticino

as our dear home on wheels «hannibal» is close to his end we could not go to the atlatic coast this year. so we had to swap surfboards with bicycles this time.

after nearly two years without traveling (due to COVID-19) our family was more than ever in need of an «off» time. we decided to stay in switzerland and started our journey in the bernese mountains. caroles parents let us use their holiday flat for two weeks which we are very thankful for. so instead of surfing we we spent our time with hiking and biking (road & gravel), indoor swiming with the kids (lui even did his second swimming badge there!) and some recovery time in the sauna. as the change of seasons was ongoing from summer to autumn we finished off your trip in warm and sunny ticino (italian part of switzerland).

as our kids are to big now, camping only in the bus is not possible anymore. so we spent a week in our big tent and lots of sleepiong bags. during the day the temparature was close to 20 degrees so we all spent our days mostly outside with cycling, playing with the other kids on the camping, loking at the cows next to our camping space and swimming in the (cold) pool. towards the end of the planned week the temperatures dropped close to 0 degrees during the night so we decided to spend the last week of our holidays at home.

as always, beeing just us on the road felt so good and enriching! so now we wait for our new home on wheels (which will arrive in spring 2022) and are looking forward to go back to the atlantic coast next year for some long awaited surfing!
